ISO 8434-1 is titled “Metallic Tube Connections for Fluid Power and General Use — Part 1: 24° Cone Connectors.” It was initially released in 1994 and was prepared by the Technical Committee ISO/TC 131, Fluid Power Systems, Subcommittee SC 4, Connectors and Similar Products and Components.

The second edition of ISO 8434-1 was issued in 2007, subsequently canceling and replacing both ISO 8434-1:1994 and ISO 8434-4:1995. As of now, the latest and valid version is the third edition, ISO 8434-1:2018.

What content does ISO 8434-1 specify?

ISO 8434-1 specifies the general and dimensional requirements for 24° cone connectors using the cutting ring and O‑ring seal cone (referred to as DKO) suitable for use with ferrous and non-ferrous tubes with outside diameters from 4 mm to 42 mm inclusive.

How work and connect in hydraulic fluid power system?

In hydraulic fluid power systems, the transmission and control of power occur through the utilization of a pressurized fluid, which can be either a liquid or gas, within a closed circuit. The fundamental principle involves conveying the fluid under pressure to achieve various tasks within the system.

To establish connections in these systems, components are linked through their ports using connectors and conductors, namely tubes and hoses. Tubes, characterized by their rigid structure, serve as conduits for the fluid, while hoses, being flexible, provide a dynamic and adaptable means of fluid transmission. This integration of connectors and conductors facilitates the seamless operation and regulation of hydraulic fluid power systems.

What use for ISO 8434-1 24°cone connectors?

ISO 8434-1 24° cone connectors are designed for application in fluid power and general scenarios, adhering to the defined pressure and temperature parameters outlined in the standard.

These connectors, featuring a 24° cone configuration, are specifically intended for linking plain end tubes and hose fittings to ports in accordance with ISO 6149-1, ISO 1179-1, and ISO 9974-1. This standardized compatibility ensures seamless and reliable connections, meeting the specified requirements for various fluid power and general applications.

What is the typical connection?

Below are typical examples of a ISO 8434-1 24°cone connector with cutting ring and with O-ring seal cone (DKO) end, see figure 1 and figure 2.

Where will use 24° cone connectors?

24°cone connectors widely used in Germany, Europe and China etc., utilized in hydraulic systems on mobile and stationary equipment sch as excavator, construction machinery, tunnel machinery, crane, etc.
