QC Hydraulics supply flareless tube fitting meeting SAE J514 standard, which consists of nut, ferrule, and fitting body that works by forcing the ferrule cutting edge into the tubing wall to form a seal. The resulting spring-action joint offers a leak proof seal and resistance to vibration.

Thread connections include NPT/NPTF, JIC, SAE, ORB, ORFS, and BSP threads, available in straight, 45 and 90º elbow hose fittings. Material available in SS 316L.

How Flareless Tube Fitting Works

The SAE Flareless, or “bite-type,” tube fitting is a three-piece assembly consisting of a nut, ferrule, and body. It functions by driving the ferrule’s cutting edge into the wall of the tubing, forming a tight, spring-like joint.

This design provides a reliable, leak-proof seal and strong resistance to vibration. Unlike flared fittings, flareless fittings eliminate the need for a flaring process and are well-suited for medium- to heavy-walled tubing.

Materials For Flareless Tube Fitting

The standard material for the fitting body and nut is Type 316 stainless steel, while the cutting-ring/ferrule is made from heat-treated Carpenter Custom 630 (17Cr–4Ni) stainless steel.

This heat treatment gives the ferrule a slightly discolored appearance and enhances its hardness, allowing it to bite into the tubing wall effectively. The ferrule must be harder than the tubing to create a secure, leak-tight seal.

For the popular sizes of SAE J514 adapters and 43 series hose fittings, we do keep some inventory for them. Even if we don’t have stock, we have commonly used raw materials stock, so we can make a very quick delivery time for the urgent orders.

No MOQ requests if we have the fittings in stock. If no stock, normally our MOQ is 200 pieces of each size. For the trial order, we can accept lower MOQ to start the cooperation. Like 100 or 50 pieces.

Our standard is dual SS 316/316L that conforms to both the 316 and 316L specifications.

SS 316 is known for its outstanding corrosion resistance and strength.

SS 316L is the low-carbon content of SS 316. The reduced carbon content minimizes the risk of carbide precipitation during welding, making it ideal for welded structures.

Yes, we do both hydrostatic pressure and nitrogen gas pressure test. Testing reports are avaliable.

It depends on the order volume and if we have them in stock or not. If we have the fittings you are looking for in stock, we can ship it within 1 working day after receiving the PO. If we don’t have the fittings in stock, normally it takes 7-45 days for production that depends on the order volume.

30% down payment in advance, balance payment against the copy of BOL. But for the serious buyer, we are open to discuss the more flexible payment terms.

No, at present, we are focused on stainless steel fittings only. Because all our CNC lathe machines and equipment are designed for manufacturing stainless steel fittings.
