BSP Hydraulic Fittings, with a 55° thread angle, are widely used for their reliability in fluid power systems. There are two types:
BSPP (Parallel): Requires a seal (O-ring, bonded seal, or 60° cone) for pressure-tight connections. Ideal where the thread doesn’t need to hold pressure.
BSPT (Tapered): Creates a pressure-tight joint via the tapered thread itself—perfect for high-pressure systems without additional seals.

BSP Fittings Assembly Torque
BSPP threads have a thread angle of 55° and are widely used in hydraulic applications.
The spot face surface must be square to the pitch diameter and free from longitudinal and spiral tool marks.
BSPP – British Standard Pipe Parallel threads are used for fittings where pressure-tight joints are not made on the thread; i.e., a peripheral seal is used.
